CTG
uses the STBox™ methodology for software testing. The methodology
encompasses three basic aspects of testing:
-
Process: Work breakdown structure of test activities (testing phases
and their place
in the software
development process)
-
People: Organizational considerations, including test organization structure
and models, testing roles, and tasks and responsibilities
-
Technology: Test infrastructure, including test environments, test
data, office environments, and test tools.
STBox is based on
standards (including BS 7925-1, BS 7925-2, IEEE Std. 829-1998, and ISO
9126). used by ISEB and ISTQB in their certification programs These
standards have gained international recognition as best practices. However,
they cover only some areas—such as terminology and deliverables—of
software testing. STBox can be regarded as a ‘glue’ that fills gaps among
the international standards.
Major added values of
STBox are the workflow it provides for testing
activities and its comprehensive coverage of all aspects of software
testing—process, people, and infrastructure.
